Literacy Program
Digital literacy refers to the ability to understand, assess, and use information technologies critically in order to learn, work, and actively participate in society. In Latin America, developing this skill is crucial to closing opportunity gaps, strengthening the knowledge economy, and promoting the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Our digital literacy program is built around four key areas of action:
1. Academic training
Through our courses, including FOCIA, a specialized program that trains AI compliance officers, along with other educational initiatives focused on Artificial Intelligence.
2. Research projects
3. Outreach and public engagement
Through events that promote best practices and explore trends in the responsible use of AI.

Conocimientos Generales
Duración: 20 horas ante instructor y 10 horas de estudio individual

- Entender la función de Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO), supervisando riesgos y garantizando la sostenibilidad del modelo de negocio.
Gobernanza de la IA
Duración: 20 horas ante instructor y 10 horas de estudio individual

- Crear y aplicar políticas de IA alineadas con los marcos regulatorios vigentes.
- Implementar mecanismos de debida diligencia ética (UNESCO) para prevenir sesgos y salvaguardar derechos humanos.
- Integrar la ética como salvaguarda social y ventaja competitiva.
- Detectar y mitigar posibles infracciones en privacidad, derechos de autor y otros riesgos jurídicos.
- Entender la función de Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO), supervisando riesgos y garantizando la sostenibilidad del modelo de negocio.
- Liderar la gestión de riesgos desde el rol de Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) y asegurar la transparencia en todo el ciclo de vida de la IA.
Gestión de Riesgo ISO/IEC 42001
Duración: 24 horas ante instructor, 6 horas de taller y 10 horas de estudio individual

- Implantar un Sistema de Gestión de Riesgos conforme a ISO/IEC 42001:2023 (Artificial Intelligence Management System).
- Realizar o atender auditorías internas y externas, protegiendo la continuidad y reputación del negocio.
- ITraducir los requisitos de la norma en procedimientos operativos claros y medibles.
- Definir métricas clave que evidencien la eficacia del sistema y faciliten la mejora.
- Monitorear las actualizaciones normativas y tecnológicas.
Certifications
At White Box Project Institute, we value strategic partnerships as a driving force for promoting the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence. That’s why we collaborate with organizations such as the World Compliance Association (WCA), CANACINTRA, NYCE, and BP Gurús to develop joint projects focused on strengthening ethics and transparency in technological adoption.
As part of this effort, we work together to generate knowledge and design curricula for specialized certification programs, endorsed by each of these institutions — ensuring quality, relevance, and strong recognition in the market.

Research Projects
Perspectives on the State of AI in Latin America: Opportunities, Risks, and the Role of ISO/IEC 42001. A Qualitative Documentary Analysis Study.
This study combines NYCE’s certification expertise with the collaboration of the Mexican consulting firms BP Gurús and White Box Project, and the Colombian firm ES Gestión Empresarial, creating a strategic alliance with leading Information Technology companies across the region. Together, they seek to strengthen the AI ecosystem and raise the standards for its responsible and effective adoption throughout Latin America.
